Midpoint Reflection

So far the only thing that have for me in my internship is me getting better of what i do and focus more on my work. i learned that i must do everything by myself because in life people wont always be there to help you go through things. i say that because my partner had been absent over two weeks which mean i had to do a lot of things by myself. the skills that i learn from my internship is going to new places, when i first work in Manhattan i use to get lost a little bit (lol) but now I'm much faster on delivering madras to other building. i think that skill can help me in the future because you never know once you have a job in the future your boss might send you on a trip in a brand new place. The kind of relationship i have with my mentor is that she always help me when need and sometimes she give me free times to relax. The good thing that i like about her is when she starts telling me stories in back in her days, her stories are interesting it makes you wanna stay longer and do more work at the same times our working. i learned that working with adult is a lot different than the way you work with your friends. You can joke with them sometimes but in the other hand you must always be serious on doing your work and show them that your capable of handling the works that they give you. My English skills have improve a lot because we always speak English with each other and when ever i cant pronounce something i always ask questions, sometimes i learn new words from doing work example i learned that madras is a piece of materials that has special design on them. i also learn how to cut madras and iron things better basically i was never good on ironing clothes ( lol ). In the beginning of my internship i wasn't that good, but to overcome that problem i had to practice more often. Its kinda hard because my job get me really tired and when i come home i go to bed straight away. But when i wake up i start my homework but sometimes when i don't have time at home i finish the rest in school. I have six weeks of internship left by that time i hope i get to finish my helping skills because the business is moving a to new place and they need to deliver all the t.d.g cards they can. Everyday more and more people come to check the place out and see if they like it or not. Some of them come and check of what kind of business we do, sometimes they pick the madras that they like and buy them from us. Always remember that madras is a piece of ,material that has a special design on them.

The name of my intenship is called T.D.G which stand for textin design group. The purpose of my company is to sell things to other company and those company can make clothes with i or anything that they want, but sometimes we buy madras from them and pick the ones that we likes. Three task that i do in my intersnhip is to cut the address at the bottom of the card because theyre moving to another place. The second is that i delivery t.d.g cards to other companies which sucks because i get lost sometimes. Also sometimes i get to pick the ones that i like and sell them myself. Some of the memories i will never forget is when my partner and i were lost together because we got sended toplaces we never went before lol. Something that i really enjoy is going outside delivering tdg cards to other companies because i get to go to new places lol. The most challleging for me is cutting but now im getting better at it because my partner been absent for a week and i get to work by myself .

My First Two Weeks (Feb. 22-March)

My mentor is a very cool person. she help me when i need help and she always explains the work to me before i do it. she been working in the business for 15 years. when ever i work to hard she always tell me to take a break. she offered me food sometimes, also my other mentor is pretty cool we don't talk that much but he let me go early when there's nothing else to do. Sometime he even send my partner and i to other companies so we can deliver things. Once we do that they buy it from us then they can make those materials into anything they want. The environment is pretty fresh it always smell like T.D.G cards because there's so many in the office. When i first went to the office my first thought were OMG because they have over 2000 cards which i been doing for the last few weeks. My first day was awesome because i got to deliver T.D.G cards to other companies which i design myself (lol) i had to cut the madras and look out for repeats. i was able to pick women 's pictures so other companies can transform them into clothes or anything that they want. My goals for internship is to complete all my hours and if i have times ill do extras. I hope to gain the cutting skills because right now im kinda bad at it right now. So far i had to find madras which is a piece of materials that have diffeent kind of pivtures on them. The challenging that was bugging me how to cut because i had to cut materials that was really thin also i had to watch out for repeats. A repeat is line up pictures which you cant cut unless they tell you so. But im doing cut card and write down the numbers in the back, its kinda because in one box together can b over 150 and sometimes i do more when im with my partner.
